VITA BANKO

After graduating from Vilnius Art Academy, Vita worked as a freelance graphic designer for several years, while teaching at the Department of Graphic Design at European Humanities University in Vilnius. In 2011, she founded her art design platform TypeandStuff. Since then she has been working on independent and research-based projects, moving from Vilnius to Berlin and then Madrid.

The artist has always been attracted and inspired by multimedia art. Her areas of research are graphic design, mixed media, typography, art photography. Depending on the time and circumstances, she has shown more interest in one or another art form, so in her portfolio you can find works from different fields, including typographic design, art photography projects and mixed media works presented on canvas or plywood.

Mixed Media

The artist works with multi-format abstractions, speaking to the viewer in a simple formal language of composition, using color and texture on canvas and wood. Her works are very positive, colorful, eye-catching in their simplicity and representational approach, made mostly in collage or experimental mixed-media techniques, whether they are typographic collages or formal compositions pieced together from various scraps of cotton or colored/acrylic-dyed paper.

Graphic Design

Since 2011, Type&Stuff has been working with artist projects, visual identities, typography, editorial design, books, illustrations, posters in the fields of art, culture and commerce.
